Making Dreams Reality
/When I was 11 years old my parents built a custom home. I was old enough to remember them creating the plans and stopping by the site to check on the progress as their dream home rose one beam at a time. I remember the intricate details, the thought and planning and most of all the excitement when we finally got to move it. It was a dream come true. Exactly what they hoped for. And to this day, they live there. Happy. I think that is when my first love of homes was born.
Once you are married and starting to settle down, you begin to dream about not renting anymore, having a place you can make your own, and building equity in an investment for the future. When my husband and I purchased our first 1500 sq ft home in McKinney after renting for 4 years, we felt like we had moved into a castle! So much space! Ha ha. Being in that home literally made us “happy”. I know, money or things or whatever can’t “buy” happiness, but I am telling you, it added joy to our lives. Why? Because home ownership is the American Dream.
The glamour of America did not rely only on the opportunity but in the belief that one could create a life the way they wanted it to be. People traveled not only for religious freedom but for because in America everything was possible. As time went on, the pioneers moved further and further west seeking independence and the possibility of land ownership. Now, though there are no wildernesses to cross or frontier to wade, the lure of “America” is still alive. Buyers who close on their home radiate not only pride, but the sense of arrival and being where they belong. As a real estate agent, I am honored to have the opportunity to assist my clients in every step of the way toward making the dream of owning a home, a reality.
